This year, CMS has switched to Jostens for our Yearbook!

You may be getting Emails and some Snail Mail from Jostens about ordering yearbooks! They are trust-worthy notifications, and you can follow the links they provide to order your 2018-2019 Yearbook.

READING LOGS DUE MONDAY!!!

 

Reading Log expectations will change every quarter!
Since we are starting a new quarter, 
students will now be required to read for 25 minutes Monday-Thursday. 
(This has gone up since the 20 mins of 1st quarter)!

Office/Teacher Announcements:
  • Recycle Bowl: The Keep Chadron Beautiful Recycle-Bowl will begin on Monday, October 15th.  KCB will set up recycle bins on the north side of the CMS playground again this year.  Please bring your #1 & # 2 plastics, corrugated cardboard, aluminium, and newspapers to contribute to the middle school’s totals!
  • Nov. Star Calendars and charts are here and available in Mrs. McCartney’s room.  Check out the night sky.
After School Program:
  • Students in need of help in Spanish, there are multiple ASP staff who can help you.  We offer academic help every Monday through Thursday after school.
  • Students who would like a snack before they go to their sports practice, stop in to room 103 and grab a snack.  Be sure to put your trash in a trash can please.
  • Activity schedules have been posted!! Take a look and see what we will be doing this week!         CMS Afterschool Program Activities
  • Students, if you have a favorite activity that you would like to see on the calendar let the staff know so that we can schedule it.  We want to make ASP as fun as possible.
CMS Athletics:
  • Saturday, November 3 the wrestlers travel to Scottsbluff for an all day meet.  
Student Council:   
Important Dates: 
  • Friday, November 9:  One Act Dinner Theatre at the high school.  Dinner starts at 5:30.  Curtain goes up at 7:00.  
Misc.
  • Plastic Recycling Drive: A collection receptacle is located on 2nd floor not far from the office.  All #1 and #2 plastic bottles, milk jugs and other containers may be placed in this bin.
  • The Traveling Library has arrived.  “Check it out!”  Library resources (Checkout, return or renew a book) will be available between classes.  Mondays the library can be found on 3rd floor, Wednesdays on 2nd floor and Fridays on 1st floor.
