  • The Student Showcase has been moved to Thursday, May 16th.  Rehearsal for stage performances will be Wednesday, May 15 right after school.  
  • Summer Code Camp will be June 24-28! Learn to code with dash, dot, cue, sphero and microbots! A fun filled week of robots! 8:00 to 12:00 daily. Pick up an application from Mrs. Smith or the ASP.
  • Penny Wars has started!  Please help support NHD by participating in your Block 1B class.  There will be a fabulous prize for the winners!
YEARBOOK:
  • Did you forget to order your 2018-2019 Yearbook??? Well, you are in luck! Mrs. Dubs ordered some extras!
  • To claim your HARDCOVER yearbook, write a Check for $25 payable to Chadron Middle School Yearbook. Take your Check to Mrs. Dubs to reserve your copy.
  • This is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE! There are only 30 extra copies to be claimed, so act fast!
  • Yearbooks will be distributed Next Wednesday, May 15th!

Battle of the Books will be this week!

Three 7th Grade teams and five 8th Grade Teams will verse each other in a 
single elimination/ bracket style tourney in literature trivia during Cardinal Block on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday!

Below is a testing schedule for the coming weeks. Students will be assessed on Science, Reading/LA, and Math!



To make sure you are putting forth your best effort, try to eat a good breakfast/lunch and get a good night of rest! These tests help us evaluate Cardinal Block sections as well as our curriculums!

  • Last chance for book orders this year the orders are in the usual places.  Lots of dollar books and good summer reading.  Get the orders to Mrs. McCartney  by Friday May 3.  You may order online with the class order number 29XQQ.  Have a great summer.

All 7th Graders have made me a deal! If ALL Reading Logs are turned in FINISHED on Monday, April 29th, then we will be DONE with Reading Logs for the remainder of the year!

Make sure your Reading Logs are ready to go on Monday!

  • Students, if you are in the building after school, please sign in to the after school program.  If we were to have an emergency we would only be able to keep the students that are signed in safe.     PLEASE SIGN IN.
  • Students, every Thursday we have Drama club after school.  Meet in room 103.  We begin at 3:45 and last about an hour.
  • Students in need of help with your homework there are multiple ASP staff who can help you.  We offer academic help every Monday through Thursday after school and on early out Fridays.
  • Students who would like a snack before they go to their sports practice, stop in to room 103 and grab a snack.  Be sure to put your trash in a trash can please.
  • Activity schedules have been posted!! Take a look and see what we will be doing this week! CMS Afterschool Program Activities
  • Students, if you have a favorite activity that you would like to see on the calendar let the staff know so that we can schedule it.  We want to make ASP as fun as possible.

Welcome Back!
I hope you enjoyed your extra long weekend! Let's come back ready to work hard and finish the year strong!

A Few Updates:
1. Reading Logs will be DUE on Tuesday, April 16th!

2. I am giving you last Wednesday-Friday OFF, since we were stuck out of the building for Snow Days. IF you did W-F, I have moved those 3 days to this Monday-Wednesday, transfer those entries to your Reading Log for this week!

3. Fables AR Sheets will be DUE Tuesday, April 16th!

Thursday, April 18th is the 7th Grade Class Field Trip to Wind Cave! 
Students need to wear jeans (or long pants), tennis shoes (NO SANDALS), and a coat/heavy sweater. The cave will be chilly (especially with the weather we've been having. HA!)
Pack a lunch!
The bus will leave at 7:40 AM from the parking lot at the Middle School, and return before 3:00 PM.


Students who are missing work in ANY classes, will not be permitted to go on this field trip! Instead, they will stay in school to get caught up in work!
